2008 Arts Sampler Weekend

One of the nation’s largest FREE arts festivals—Fine Arts Fund Sampler Weekend®, sponsored by Macy’s—took place for the 22nd straight year. Performances and events ran February 8, 9 and 10.

This year’s Arts Sampler Weekend started early, with new Friday evening events, concerts, art openings and theatre performances geared toward teens and young adults. The entire weekend spotlighted the area’s many arts venues, artists and performers through its more than 100 free activities that took place in various communities throughout the region—from Loveland to Blue Ash, Covington to downtown Cincinnati.

The weekend was capped off with a special free concert by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra as they performed Carnival of Animals at Music Hall. The audience was filled with children wearing animal masks decorated earlier in the lobby—helping bring the concert to life.
